Dr. Noor Muhammad Khan was born in Pakistan in 1973. He received the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, Pakistan, in 1998. He held several positions in WorldCall Communications, National Institute of Science and Technical Education (NISTE), and Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) from 1999 to 2002. In 2002, upon availing a merit scholarship for Ph.D. studies from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Pakistan, he joined the School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications, University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia, where he completed his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering in March 2006. From 2002 to 2006, he worked as casual academic with the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia and joined Ghulam Ishaq Khan (GIK) Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, Pakistan as Assistant Professor in September 2006. He worked there for one year. Currently, he is working as Professor with the Muhammad Ali Jinnah University, Islamabad, Pakistan. He has authored/co-authored more than seventy research publications in reputed international journals, and refereed conferences. He has served as Co-Chair of the Technical Program Committee of IEEE International Multi-topic Conference (INMIC-2009), Islamabad, Pakistan in December 2009 and has worked as the member of Technical Program Committee in many IEEE conferences. He has successfully supervised the research work of one Ph.D. and eighteen MS students. As recognition of his research contributions, he has been awarded Research Productivity Award (RPA) by the Pakistan Council for Science and Technology (PCST) for the year 2011-2012. Currently, six Ph.D. scholars and six MS students are working under his supervision in the areas of Wireless Communications and Wireless Sensor Networks. Moreover, he has recently served as Technical Program Chair in the International Conference on Emerging Technologies (ICET-2012), held in October, 2012, organized under IEEE Islamabad Section. His research interests include smart-antenna systems, wireless-sensor networks, channel characterization and estimation, adaptive multiuser detection, mobile-to-mobile communication systems and physical-channel modeling for mobile communications.
